Specialist Medical Opinion

The Specialist Medical Opinion (SMO) Network provides priority appointments (within ten days) and high quality medical opinions focused on diagnosis and the best treatment options for injured workers. These specialists are the leading musculo-skeletal specialists from around Australia. Referrals are initiated by our treating physiotherapist in cases where recovery has stagnated. The SMO review will assist by confirming a diagnosis, outlining a treatment plan, identifying barriers to a full recovery and establishing recovery expectations. 

Our priority access to the FPES SMO Network supports our philosophy of early active treatment by reducing waiting times and targeting appropriate treatment plans focused on recovery.
